Four men allegedly gang-raped a man in a moving car before dumping him by a roadside in Mumbai. The suspects used a post put up by the victim on his Instagram account to trace his location and abduct him. Mumbai Police have registered a case under Secion 377 of the IPC at VB Nagar police station. All the four accused have been arrested. One of the accused is a minor.
According to the police, the 22-year-old victim lives in the central suburbs of Mumbai and the accused followed him on Instagram. On Sunday, the man posted his selfie on Instagram from outside a restaurant in the city.
The four suspects used this post to trace him and reached the restaurant. Describing themselves his ‘fans’, the four approached him and asked that he joins them for a bike ride. As the victim agreed, the four drove him towards Mumbai airport. They then forced him into a car and gang-raped him for three hours.
Police said the accused used the victim’s credit card to buy petrol and also withdrew some cash for their personal use. The men then dumped the 22-year-old victim on a road early Monday morning.
The victim somehow managed to call his parents who informed the police and registered a case. The police arrested all the four accused later in the day.
