Amy Winehouse, one of the most talented singers the UK ever produced will go on tour in 2019 as a hologram simulation.
The hologram will use Winehouse’s original voice recordings and will be projected on stage in front of a live band.
Base Hologram is providing the technology behind the tour. The company produces and distributes live entertainment that combines mixed reality and holographic cinema. Base Hologram has created productions for Roy Orbison, Maria Callas, and Jack Horner.
Brian Becker, CEO of Base Hologram, says Winehouse is a natural fit for the pioneering technology of holographic live entertainment.
“Amy was a powerhouse in every sense of the word. She played by her own rules, pioneered her own sense of style of music, and because of that we know she is the perfect person to headline this type of project.”
Amy’s dad Mitch is on board with the production, saying that “it means everything that her legacy will continue.”
We’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with the family of GRAMMY Award-winning artist @amywinehouse to celebrate her legacy. This worldwide hologram tour, set to start in late 2019, will raise funds and awareness for @AmysFoundation! 🎙 https://t.co/K0CIPH6Tty pic.twitter.com/GyR0ygyPEc
