Dubbed Leicesters ‘Iron Queen’ Asha Rani has attempted to smash her way into the the Guinness Book of World Records with a display of true guts – after having 16 concrete blocks broken on her stomach with a sledgehammer.
Asha Rani’s attempted her eighth record in 10 years today having previously lifted weights with her hair, ears and even her eye sockets.
The record attempt involved the 28-year-old from Spinney Hills lying on her back before having 16 blocks placed on her stomach one by one before being smashed with the sledgehammer – all in less than 30 seconds.
Asha is originally from Punjab, India and does not speak much English, but she said: “It went really well.”
Asha managed to break the record in 26 seconds, and the video will be reviewed by Guinness before it is officially verified.
Her friend and self proclaimed ‘Iron Man’ Manjit Singh, also from Spinney Hills, had the job of breaking the blocks on Asha’s stomach with the sledgehammer.
He said: “She completed in less than 30 seconds, which was great.
