A truly shocking picture is emerging as the body of a 21-year-old California man was located in Lake Tahoe Sunday afternoon, more than 24 hours after he jumped off a boat near Edgewood Tahoe. He is known as Rammi Bains

El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office cadaver dogs alerted others to the body of the man about one-quarter mile off shore between Tahoe Meadows and Lakeside Marina just before 5:00 p.m. Sunday, according to South Lake Tahoe Police Officer Traci Trapani.
Trapani said she does not have the victim’s hometown at this time, but she did say he was not local.
Just before noon on Saturday, August 4, multiple agencies responded to the water about 100 yards west of Edgewood Tahoe after a report of a man who had gone under after jumping into the lake. Boats from Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Tahoe Douglas Fire, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, South Lake Tahoe Police, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded along with a medical helicopter and the California Highway Patrol helicopter. Personnel searched the area for hours until the search was called off due to high winds and waves.
The search resumed Sunday, August 5, at 8:00 a.m.
Officer Trapani reminds those enjoying Lake Tahoe to always wear a life jacket when jumping into the lake. At this time it is unknown if Cold Water Shock played a role in the death, but she said water safety rules should always be followed.
