Gully Boy (2019) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Gully Boy is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language musical drama film written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, and directed by Akhtar. The film is co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar under the banners of Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment productions. Inspired by the lives of street rappers Divine and Naezy, it stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, and features Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Vijay Raaz in supporting roles.

Firstly, I must warn you that I am a BIG fan of Ranveer Singh therefore, my review may come across as slighty biased but, I don’t care πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

I loved this movie 😍! I loved Ranveer Singh in it 😍! I loved the rap 😍! I loved the hip-hop 😍! I loved how raw this movie felt 😍! I just loved it! It reminds you of #8mile with the concept being around rap but, it is not the same movie. Instead of #eminem we have Ranveer Singh. Instead of Detroit we have Delhi. Instead of the track Lose Yourself we have #apnatimeaayega so, yes parallels will be drawn but who cares, it’s still ace!

The rap-battle or, battle-rap 🎀whichever way around it is, is absolutley brilliant! You feel the passion from each individual and appreciate their talent and the art that it truly is!

Every character in this movie is memorable. Alia Bhatt is brilliant as the slighty feisty and perhaps crazy girlfriend πŸ€ͺ but, nonetheless she is great. Siddhant Chatruvedi is excellent as Sher. He has swag 😎 and in some scenes, he slightly overshadows Ranveer Singh.

Now onto Ranveer Singh. Words cannot express how great he is πŸ™Œ! He is such a versatile actor. With each of his movies he never fails to impress; from Khilji in Padmaavat, to Simmba to Gully Boy. There is no stopping him. He is reigning at the moment 🀴. With @willsmith supporting him and @nas he is simply just smashing it. Soak up the glory Ranveer Singh πŸ€—.

Lastly, praise must go to Zoya Akhtar who directs this movie and proves yet again that she is a superb director πŸ‘. This maybe a movie that appeals to the younger crowds but, I say it is definitely not one to miss. Also, don’t miss the cameos from @manjmusik @therajakumari and @bobbyfriction. Go, Go, Go, check it out!

5 out of 5 stars. Remember, it’s my opinion!
