Manmarziyaan (2018) 🌟🌟🌟
This will be one of those movies that will have the audience opinion split. Too ballsy for some 😱 and then there will be those who will appreciate the modern day romance story ❤.
The movie has been directed by Anurag Kashyap who has directed movies such as #gangsofwasseypur and #bombayvelvet. This movie however does not follow the same genre, this is a romance but, not your typical romance movie where boy meets girl 👫🏻, they get married and live happily ever after. No, not at all! In this movie you will witness love, relationships, heartbreak, anger, lust, forgiveness, commitment etc.
Even though this movie is a 12A rating, you may not want to watch it with younger children or, perhaps not even with your parents as there may be a few scenes where you will be like 😳🙈.
Performances can not be faulted, each character is different from the other and the roles have been well executed. You have Abhishek Bachchan who plays the mature, good boy character, who you sense has his own secrets 🤔. Yes, he switches back and forth from wearing a Turban in the film 👳🏻♀️, to not wearing one; the reason is loosely explained. He has always been one of my favourite actors 😊, who does not get enough praise. Tapsee Pannu is a loud, rebellious and confident young lady who is not afraid to say how she feels. Perhaps a little confused but, all she wants is love and commitment. I liked the fact her look was simple throughout the movie. Then there is Vicky Kaushal 😎, the young and careless guy who wants love too but, afraid to take the next step in commitment. You will also notice the twins Poonam and Priyanka from America pop up from time to time in the movie, with a little dance; a hidden message perhaps?
The music for the movie is beautiful and fits in well 👌🏻. Tracks such as #daryaa #greywalaashade #sacchimohabbat will definitely stand out. In fact, they will all stand out because there isn’t a song you will be able to fault 😍.
Overall, it’s a good movie which is a bit lengthy but, the character performances and the music make up for it. It reminded me of a modern day Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. It is worth watching but, think twice who you go to watch the movie with 👀. Go check it out!
3 out of 5 stars. Remember, it’s my opinion!
