With all the ongoing controversy surrounding this movie, there was certainly alot of huge expectations…and, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
The movie was beautifully shot, the palaces were majestic to say the least and the costumes were simply amazing! Shahid Kapoor’s performance was great, a very different role from anything he has acted in previously.
He looked well toned and…. well, I will say his hair looked fantastic! I need to know what shampoo he uses 😉. Deepika looked stunning as always. She pulls of simplicity and grace perfectly. Although, sometimes I felt she just needed to blink before her eyes became even more red and sore! Ranveer Singh…..hats off to Ranveer Singh 🎩. He pulls of a villainous role with ease. You can’t help but be glued to him, when he is on screen. At times, I did notice that he sounded very similar to Sanjay Dutt 🤔. Whilst the movie soundtrack wasn’t quite up to scratch like #RamLeela #Devdas or #HumDilDeChukeSanam, it fitted in well with the movie itself.
The battle scenes were not quite on point; definitely no #Bahubali type battle and also, the CGI wasn’t the greatest. Finally, what disappointed me the most was that there was no interval!! So, the 2 litres of water, 3 cups of coffee and the cup of green tea that I consumed in the day, caused me great discomfort during the lengthy movie, as I didn’t want to miss any part of the film 😯…..but putting all that aside, Padmaavat is definitely worth a watch.
Don’t miss out!! 3 out of stars 5 stars.
Remember, it’s my opinion and I’m no critic
