Soorma (2018) 🌟🌟🌟
This movie is based on the story of Sandeep Singh who is an ex-captain for the Indian National Hockey Team 🏑.
Taking up the main role we have Diljit Dosanjh 😍 who plays Sandeep Singh and Tapsee Pannu who plays his love interest Harpreet Kaur, who is also a hockey player.
The first half of the movie starts off well but, then it begins to drag pace and then it picks up again in second half of the movie. Performances can’t be faulted, everyone plays their role well 👍🏻. There is good chemistry between Diljit and Tapsee and credit should go to the look of their characters which is kept simple and real.
In the first half of the movie you see Diljit with his beard trimmed back shorter than usual, which presents a younger looking character. In the second half of the movie, his beard is normal which presents a more mature looking character, which compliments the transition in his character. Physique wise, you can see he has been working out and hitting the gym hard 👌🏻. The same way he had done so for his movie #sadaarji2.
Whilst the performances were good and there was an interesting storyline, what the movie lacked was the spark⚡and adrelanine that we saw in movies such as #chakdeindia and #bhaagmilkhabhaag. The absence of this could be felt.
The music score fits in well with this movie 🎶. For me, Ishq Di Baajiyaan definitely stands out; its sung beautifully by Dijit and the lyrics are touching 😊. Pardesiya is also good, as well as the title track Soorma.
