Lohri and a pathway to wedding season, that is what January means, and typically in 2019 similar to other years we have releases galore and many of them with a true desi flavour, well it is the season of saag and fires!
January 2018 gave us two songs that were huge anthems throughout the whole of the year ‘Laung Laachi’ by Mannat Noor and ‘Just Listen’ by Sidhu Moose Wala. So did 2019 give us two such anthems? Here is our top 10 of songs from January 2019, again these are in no order of preference or sales.

Udhne Sapoliye – Jazzy B, this came out of the blue on new years eve and has played a part in parties and celebrations throughout the whole of January, solid Jazzy B track, big tune.
Where You Been, The PropheC, An artist who just keeps on raising the bar ‘Where You Been’ has everything you could ask for from a PropheC tune, it has innovation, style and just worked.
Dhoka, Himmat Sandu, Yes a movie song, but Himmat Sandhu really did pull this off and this has been on repeat in and out of Punjab for the whole month of January.
Jatt Life, Varinder Brar, This has gathered pace and momentum and is now everywhere, form the streets of Punjab to the high street in the UK to dance-floors in Canada, this bangs!
Speed Full, Jatinder Dhiman and Deepak Dhillon, this track is to all intense and purposes is ‘Love You Part 2’ and it lives up to that billing, Jatinder Dhiman has a big year ahead of him and this is a great start.
Rabbe Ve – B Praak, Punjabi’s love a duki tune, pulling at the heart strings and making you reminisce and Rabba Ve by B Praak does just that, a brilliant ballad as only Mr Praak can pull off.
P.K, Gurnam Bhullar & PBN, January is lohri and the gateway to wedding season, so a good party track will always bang, and P.K certainly was on rotation in January at almost every event.
Outlaw, Sidhu Moose Wala & Byg Byrd, It wouldn’t be a month of the year without a Moose release, and even though this was only an audio release the song has been a hit with Sidhu’s large fan base and it has been on repeat for the whole month.
Purje – Mankirt Aulakh, For fans of Mankirt Aulakh this was a big tune, and he has a lot of fans, a typically wavy track from Mankirt that was on repeat during January.
No Need, Karan Aujla & Deep Jandu, A big year ahead for Karan Aujla as he looks to break out globally and “No Need” has certainly been a hit with fans across the globe.
