A man in Delhi, accompanied by his friends shot dead a dance teacher who had mocked his out of time dance steps. The victim was a 20-year-old dance instructor Avinash Sangwan.
The incident occurred during a religious procession in Delhi. The man, still unidentified, returned with two others and shot the dance instructor from close range in the chest. The accused shot him dead minutes after he made fun of the dance steps of the former.
A man was recording the religious procession near a temple in central Delhi. He captured this incident as the accused fired the shot. Several persons around Avinash didn’t realise he has been shot at. When Avinash took off his T-shirt after seeing blood on his chest that is when people came to know about it.
The incident occurred late on Wednesday night, a report said.
Nikhil Sangwan, who is a friend of Avinash, said that they were dancing outside the Valmiki temple at Mandir Marg. It was at this point that they saw a large man dancing very poorly, he man came towards Avinash and pushed him away angrily. The man then left but returned soon. Avinash ignored him and asked his friends to go away.
“He returned with his two friends and they all joined us in the dance. Suddenly, I heard a gunshot sound and saw Avinash bleeding from his chest. We helped Avinash remove his t-shirt and found him bleeding from his right side of the chest. Before we could understand anything, Avinash collapsed on the road. We rushed him to Lohia Hospital in a passerby’s car,” Nikhil said in his statement.
The doctors at the hospital declared him dead due to gunshot well before he reached hospital, the report said.
