Late Night Movie Review: A late-night talk show host’s world is turned upside down when she hires her first and only female staff writer. Originally intended to smooth over diversity concerns, her decision brings about unexpectedly hilarious consequences as the two women who are separated by culture and generation become united by their love of a biting punchline.
This just looked like an easy watch with a touch of comedy and you know what? It was an easy watch with a touch of comedy!
There are some laugh out loud scenes and the movie will keep you smiling throughout. Both Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling are good in this movie. Emma Thompson is brilliant with her sarcasm and comic timing. Her role as a talk show host suited her and she played the part well. Mindy Kaling is equally good and I didn’t realise that she had written this screenplay. Let’s hope we see more from her.
If you liked The Devil Wears Prada then I think you will enjoy this movie but, without the designer clothes or, Meryl Streep or, Anne Hathway – ok, you get my point. Go check it out!
