Once Upon a Time In Hollywood – As Seen By Raj-Bitu Kang

Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood (2019)

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

Movie Review: Raj-Bitu Kang

Some people like his movies and some people hate his movies. I, for one always look forward to Quentin Tarantino movies and especially if it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.

As expected, this is a lengthy movie. There are some scenes which are drawn-out and could have done with trimming down. I particularly enjoyed the scene between Brad Pitt and a certain martial arts actor. I’m not sure how accurate it is but, that scene did amuse me. There are also plenty of cameos. Let’s see if you can spot them all.

You really cannot fault anyone’s performance; Leonardo is remarkable and Brad Pitt is great; he certainly delivers at the end of the movie. Margot Robbie has minimal dialogue but, I felt it worked and did not impact the overall movie.

I think there will be split opinions from the audience on this movie but, it’s not one to miss. The cinemaphotography is excellent, as is how the 60s era has been depicted. Go check it out!

4 out of 5 stars. Remember, it’s my opinion!
