Manmeet Singh a much loved local businessman and restaurant owner has been confirmed as the individual who was found dead under the wheels of a car. Mr Singh was found after a fight outside his restaurant ‘Passage To India’ on Saturday evening.
Police are investigating reports that Manmeet Singh, 44, was involved in a dispute with a motorist outside the restaurant in Hounslow at 9pm on Saturday. Diners described seeing legs beneath a Mercedes after shouts and screams were heard outside.
A Met Police spokesman said: “Officers are working to establish the circumstances, but believe that the man was possibly involved in a dispute with the occupant of another vehicle beforehand.
“The 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.30 pm.”
Paramedics battled to save Mr Singh but he was pronounced dead at the scene in Heston Road an hour later.
A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further inquiries.
