Pushminder Singh Grewal, 26, has appeared in court after his truck was involved in an accident that left a 10-year-old boy dead. A 13-year-old girl and 30-year-old lady were also left with injuries.
The horror crash took place on Sydney’s M5 yesterday. Pushminder Singh Grewal dropped his head in his hands as he was driven into court in the back of a truck. Mr Grewal’s lawyer Elias Tabchouri said his client was “devastated” over the tragedy. “Let everyone be assured this was an accident,” Mr Tabchouri said.
“This is a tragedy, he is devastated about what has happened here, he did not wake up that morning thinking that would happen to him, or this family, and he’s very, very upset about that.”
9News understands Mr Grewal told police there was an issue with the brakes, and there is dashcam footage of the accident. He did not apply for bail but is expected to tomorrow.
