Rajinder Singh Aulakh, 45, is facing charges after he allegedly attacked a woman and sexually assaulted her behind an Apex convenience store last month, court documents show.
Rajinder Aulakh, of Holly Springs, Wake County North Carolina has been charged with second-degree rape and second-degree sexual offence in connection with the incident on June 8 behind the Circle K, located at 1414 E. Williams St.
According to the arrest warrant, the woman was waiting at the store for a friend to pick her up when she was approached by Aulakh around 6:30 p.m. He asked her to go with him behind the store to look at some nearby apartments.
As they were walking, the man struck the woman in the face, knocking her to the ground.
The suspect forced her to perform oral sex on him before he raped her, the warrant says.
Two store customers told police they heard the woman’s screaming and went to the area, where they saw Aulakh standing over her. One of the witnesses told police they yelled at the suspect, who hit the woman with his fist before standing up and zipping up his pants, according to the warrant.
The witnesses told police the man left the area holding a clear plastic bag.
Police found the suspect at a nearby Comfort Inn along with belongings taken from the victim.
Aulakh was arrested and taken to the Wake County Jail. It was not immediately clear if he has bonded out and been released.
