Rashpal Singh From Coventry Arrested Over Knifepoint Attacks On Elderly Ladies


A suspected armed robber will appear at Coventry Magistrates court on Monday 18th February.

Rashpal Singh who was chased and detained by members of the public at a bank is charged with two counts of robbery.

Rashpal Singh allegedly tried to rob an elderly lady at knife-point at Barclays bank on Fletchamstead Highway on Friday afternoon, before being restrained by three members of the public and later arrested by police.

Police have also stated that Rashpal Singh is also suspected of carrying out another robbery in which an elderly lady was targeted in the city at a building society just a few hours earlier.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police told CoventryLive: “Rashpal Singh, aged 39, of Elmsdale Avenue, Foleshill, has been charged with two counts of robbery.

“He has been remanded in custody to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday 18 Feb).”
