Sarpreet Singh Named In Bayern Munich’s Champions League Squad

New Zealand teenager Sarpreet Singh could make his UEFA Champions League debut in the coming months, after being named in Bayern Munich‘s 28-man tournament squad. Canadian international Alphonso Davies also makes the grade.

Coach Niko Kovac has also submitted the names of young summer signings Michael Cuisance (20) and Fiete Arp (19), alongside established stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Thomas MΓΌller and Manuel Neuer.

Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho, Inter Milan-owned Ivan Perisic and former Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez have played in the competition before, but it will be a new experience for FIFA World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard.

Bayern face Red Star Belgrade in their opening Champions League fixture on 18 September. Tottenham Hotspur and Olympiacos complete Group B.

The German giants have lifted European club football’s top prize on five occasions, but not since 2012/13 when they beat league rivals Borussia Dortmund in the final en route to claiming an unprecedented Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB Cup treble.
