Suraj Kaler a suspected thief tried to run from police when he was spotted trying to sell stolen goods. Mr Kaler was chased and arrested on Hounslow High Street. The police then discovered a haul of drugs on Suraj.
Kaler, 23, and the other two men were searched on the High Street they were found to be in possession of various stolen electronic items. When Kaler was searched in police custody, a large quantity of Class A and B drugs, £581.50 in cash and two mobile phones were found in his possession.
It was later discovered that the drugs found on Kaler were 104 individual wraps of crack cocaine, 31 wraps of heroin and five bags of cannabis. The crack cocaine was estimated to have a street value of £1,040, the heroin was estimated to have a value of £310 and the cannabis was estimated to have a value of £140.
He was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. The other two men were released.
During police interview, Kaler answered ‘no comment’ to all questions.
Kaler pleaded guilty to the offence at Isleworth Crown Court and on October 30 was jailed for two years and eight months.
