Woman Attacked Outside Sparkhill Gurdwara – Police Want To Speak To This Man

Police are trying to trace a man after a vicious purse snatch outside a city temple.

The victim, a woman, was sitting on a bench outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Sparkhill on Christmas Eve (Dec 24) when she was targeted. A thief reached into her handbag and swiped her purse from outside the Stratford Road Gurdwara at around 2pm on Christmas Eve.Β  The woman then stepped into action and chased after the thief in a desperate bid to claim her valuables back.

She was then assaulted as the man pushed her away and fled the scene.

Now West Midlands Police has released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. They urged anyone who has information, or who knows the man, to come forward.

“We want to speak to him about a theft which happened on Christmas Eve at around 2pm.
“A woman was sitting on a bench outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple on the Stratford Road when her purse was taken from her bag.
“She chased after him and he assaulted her by pushing her away.
