“Kala Chashma” lyricist Kapurthala policeman Amrik Singh Shera has now alleged that his song “Gwandian de Dhol Vajda” has been released without giving him credit, he actually accuses Zeus and Zora of stealing the the song, check out the video below from Aakanksha N Bhardwajat at the Tribune India.
Amrik Singh Shera hit the headlines just over two years ago, when the song “Kala Chashma” featured in the movie “Baar Baar Dekho”, it became a hit, but no one knew about the lyricist. It only came to light after he narrated his story on how he was never told that the song was going to be part of a big film and no credit was given to him.
Now he has accused BeingU Music of using his work without permission “‘I had written the song “Gwandian de Dhol Vajda” in 1990, around the same time when I had penned “Kala Chashma”. A friend of mine from Canada told me that the song was released. I again felt cheated.” He said he wanted a name for himself. “I write songs because I find peace in them, but this kind of behaviour is not acceptable every time,” he said.
Zeus and his team are not taking this lightly and have fired back:
Jash, manager of Zora Randhawa and Dr Zeus, claimed Satpal was the original owner of the song who had the rights. “Satpal had sold the rights to a company in London. We took rights from that company. I have all paperwork with me and all contracts along with an NOC. Why would we release a song if we do not have the rights? Shera can approach me directly if he has any problem,” Jash said.
